The Story Behind This Coffee
This coffee comes from the Tenejapa region in the highlands of Chiapas – a place known not only for its rich biodiversity but also for its strong sense of community and deep respect for the land.
Here, farmers work together in a cooperative where knowledge is passed down from generation to generation.
Through a partnership with Belco, they have direct access to the European market under fair and sustainable conditions, allowing them to focus on quality over quantity.
Cultivation & Processing
Grown at altitudes between 1,300 and 1,600 meters, this coffee is cultivated by 186 smallholder farmers in the hills of Tenejapa. The coffee trees grow in the shade of native forests, completely free of chemical treatments.
Harvesting is done exclusively by hand, ensuring only the ripest cherries are selected. The beans are then washed and traditionally dried on raised African beds, enhancing clarity and sweetness in the cup.
