For this limited edition, we have selected a unique coffee from Papua New Guinea, named after the Lamari River that flows through the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea. Lamari boasts an SCA cup score of 84, featuring flavors of milk chocolate, mandarins, and black tea, accompanied by pronounced sweetness, a clean finish, and a light to medium body.

Flavour profile
The taste profile of Tairora coffee from PNG offers a complex but harmonious taste with a floral-fruity aroma. Notes of oranges emerge in the cup, accompanied by a subtle caramel and chocolate sweetness with a slight honey aftertaste.
The story of this coffee
Imagine a place where time stands still. A place where there are no paved roads, only narrow trails winding through impenetrable jungle and the steep slopes of the Bismarck Range. It is here, at altitudes of over 1,800 metres, that the Tairora community lives.
What makes Tairora coffee special is the dedication of the local people. Because the area is almost inaccessible, farmers often have to carry heavy bags of coffee cherries on their own backs for hours before reaching the nearest collection point.
Growing and harvesting
Unlike the large Latin American plantations, coffee in Tairora does not grow in neat rows. They are called 'Coffee Gardens'. Local Tairora farmers grow coffee trees (mostly Bourbon and Typica varieties) in their small plots next to sweet potatoes and bananas. Everything is done in complete harmony with nature - without chemical fertilizers, under the shade of the giant rainforest trees.
This coffee is processed using the washed method, where crystal clear water from mountain springs is used for fermentation. It is the high altitude and cool climate that makes the cherries ripen more slowly, giving the coffee its incredible complexity.
Exceptional coffee with an exceptional score
Cupping score is a coffee quality score used to assess the flavour characteristics of coffee. To qualify as an exceptional coffee, a coffee must achieve a cupping score above 80 points.
In contrast, the commodity coffees you buy in supermarkets have a cupping score below 80 and are intended for mass production where quality is not the main criterion. These coffees focus more on productivity and price. The cupping score is a great tool to quickly get a feel for the quality of the coffee and its potential in flavour.
Suitable preparation
A coffee that excels especially in preparations that emphasise its complexity and aromatic purity. The ideal preparation is filtered (V60, Chemex), where floral and fruity notes, fresh acidity and natural sweetness develop beautifully. It also works great in Aeropress, which brings out its juiciness and structure. In espresso, it will offer a fuller body, caramel sweetness and subtle chocolate nuances.
